Additional information:
An upper disturbance over southern British Columbia is bringing widespread moderate to heavy showers and a possibility of wet snow over the highway summit.
Because of the convective nature of the system, snow levels may temporarily lower to 1600-2000 metres as intense bands of precipitation move through. Snowfall accumulations will be highly variable depending on elevation. Trace to 4 cm can be expected through this afternoon.
